Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Cornershop Jamaica's website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account, placing an order, accepting a delivery, or otherwise using Cornershop, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Cornershop
Cornershop JA is a technology platform that connects customers with local restaurants and stores, independent couriers, and merchant partners across Jamaica. Cornershop facilitates ordering, payments, delivery coordination, and merchant operations but is not the seller of merchant goods except where expressly stated.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding agreement under Jamaican law. You agree to provide accurate registration information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Customer terms
If you use the Cornershop JA customer app, you agree that:
- Orders are requests to merchants; acceptance and fulfilment are subject to availability
- Prices, fees, delivery charges, and ETAs may vary based on merchant settings, courier bids, distance, and demand
- You will provide accurate delivery addresses and be available to receive orders or communicate with your courier
- Promo codes and wallet balances are subject to published rules and may be modified or withdrawn
- Cancellations, refunds, and disputes are handled according to order status, merchant policy, and applicable law
4. Courier terms
If you use the Cornershop Delivery app as a courier, you agree that:
- You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Cornershop
- You will maintain valid identification, licensing, insurance, and vehicle documentation as required during onboarding
- You will complete deliveries safely, follow verification steps, and treat customers and merchants respectfully
- Earnings, bids, wallet balances, and withdrawals are subject to platform rules, fees, and verification checks
- Cornershop may suspend or remove courier access for safety concerns, fraud, poor performance, or breach of these Terms
5. Merchant terms
Merchants using the Merchant Portal are also subject to merchant onboarding requirements, KYC verification, and any executed merchant agreement. In summary, merchants agree to:
- Operate a legitimate business and provide accurate menus, prices, and availability
- Accept and fulfil orders promptly according to published hours and policies
- Maintain food safety and product quality standards applicable to their category
- Submit valid payout information and accept applicable platform fees and settlements
6. Payments
Payments may be processed through saved cards, Cornershop Wallet, cash on delivery, or other methods we make available. You authorise us and our payment partners to charge selected payment methods for orders, fees, and applicable taxes. Failed or disputed payments may result in account restrictions.
7. Platform conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity
- Harass other users, couriers, merchants, or support staff
- Interfere with Platform security, systems, or other users' experiences
- Misrepresent your identity, location, vehicle, business, or order details
- Scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Platform except as permitted by law
8. Intellectual property
Cornershop names, logos, software, and content are owned by Cornershop Jamaica or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. User-generated content (such as reviews or chat messages) may be used by Cornershop to operate and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Cornershop does not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific delivery times, or the quality of third-party merchant goods. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cornershop disclaims warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cornershop and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to Cornershop for the transaction giving rise to the claim in the prior three months, or JMD $10,000, except where liability cannot be limited by law.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform if you breach these Terms, create risk for other users, or where required by law. You may stop using the Platform at any time, subject to completing outstanding orders, deliveries, or payout obligations.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Disputes will be handled in accordance with applicable Jamaican law and courts, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protections.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes were made. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
